Leeds Sailing and Activity Centre

The Leeds Sailing and Activity Centre operated by Leeds City Council, is situated at Tarnfield Park, Yeadon, 8 miles from Leeds City Centre. The Centre offers many sports including: Sailing, Stand Up Paddleboarding, Orienteering and Off Road Biking, see the facilities section for all activities available. The Centre is a Royal Yachting Association Training Centre for Dinghy Sailing, windsurfing, powerboating and shore-based theory courses. A British Canoeing approved activity provider,a British Rowing Training Centre and is licensed by The Adventure Activities Licensing Authority.

All our instructors are fully qualified and experienced to ensure a high level of safety and quality of instruction.

School Packages

We offer a wide variety of school packages ideal for transition days, GCSE qualifications and team building exercises. We take school groups of up to 30 pupils Key Stage 2 and above per package, who can take part in our activity package, choosing three activities including at least two self-programmed activities of problem solving and on-site orienteering. 

Instructed activities include canoeing, rafted canoeing, bellboating, kayaking, raft building, stand up paddleboarding, biking, indoor cave, bushcraft, soft archery. Most of these activities can be run for 10 pupils with one instructor.

Please note these are office hours all year round. We accept activities and bookings outside of these times.

As we schedule our programme around the seasonal period (April to October) our opening times vary.  
During term time  we close later on Monday evening 08:00 - 18.00 and Thursday evening 08:00 - 20.00.
